His Timing

His Timing

Has God ever, in your perspective, delayed Himself in your situation? Have you ever felt so disappointed that He did not answer your request within the timeline you wanted him to do so? On various occasions throughout scripture, you can notice that God is never late. Right?!

His Timing

Well, the two sisters from Bethany beg to differ. They could not understand why a trip that should take 30 to 40 minutes took Jesus 2 days. “If you had been here, my brother would not have died” (John 11:21), said Martha the moment Jesus arrived. Then shortly after, in verse 32, Mary falls at his feet and also says, “’Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.’” (John 11:32) Jesus, knowing the earnestness of the situation at hand, chose not to come the moment they called on him. But why? Why did Jesus take his sweet time getting to them? So that they would see the glory of God.

His Glory

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

You see, just like Martha and Mary, you and I have also felt disappointed at God when we don’t get our prayers answered in a specific timeframe. Today, perhaps you too are saying, “Lord, if you had been here, this wouldn’t have happened.” If so, know that God is already working it all out for your good. Often times, when we’re in a situation, we don’t always see a way out. But remember, we walk by faith and not by sight.

Although you can’t see anything happening at the moment and it may look as if your prayers are not being answered, believe me, God is turning it all around. I believe that you will soon see the glory of God manifest in your situation. He wants to show you His glory!
