Grab a mirror. No, seriously, do it. Look into that mirror. Who do you see? Who do others see? Who
does God see? There is a meme that floats around on facebook from time to time. It says something
along the lines of “nothing you do goes unseen.” Let’s think about that. Nothing you do is done
without God seeing it.

As you were looking into that mirror, I am sure you listed out titles. For example, mother, wife, daughter, friend, aunt, etc. But, who are we really? What do all of these things make us into? Perhaps you are every single one of these titles and maybe even a few more. But what is the one title that describes all the others? YOU.

Dare to be YOU. You are not required to live for anyone else in this world but yourself and your God. We tend to get caught up in the people-pleasing mode and ensuring that what we are doing is good enough for another.
Are we living our lives to please others? Or are we living our lives in such a way that people that do not know God will see Him through us?

“For if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die,
we are the Lord’s” Roman’s 14:8

So, if you are caught up in turmoil or feeling like you have let someone down. Ask yourself the question, “am I living for God?”

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life
which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for
me” Galatians 2:20

Sisters, let me tell you something….there is not one person that would endure what Jesus Christ endured for you to live free. You will not walk through this life without disappointing someone or being disappointed yourself. But keep your eyes fixed on the hills from where your help comes from. If you feel like you never measure up, or you feel like you will never come out on top, ask yourself this, “according to who?” “Who says you are not good enough?” You are enough. You are a child of God, a living God. A God that loves you through the disappointments. A God who covers you with His unending grace. A God who created you, just as you are. So, stop letting people get in your head. Stop allowing the criticism to define you. Keep on keeping on and living a life for God.

“So as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.”
1 Peter 4:2

Live your life according to God’s will, not for the will of others. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing know that you are God’s greatest creation.
