Be still; surrender; relax — something that does not come naturally for many. To relax means to let go of what is causing the mind to be troubled. It means to take a step back of that which is making you feel pressed down, disturbed, restless and with no calmness within. When we lay back and relax, we are giving God the platform to do what only He can do.
Surrender
The other day I was reading an article and the writer said, “God wants us to fight for our miracle in a position of rest”. This is so true. You see, too often we are so eager to know the how, the when and the why, not realizing that God doesn’t work in such way. Surrendering requires you to be still. No how; no when; no why; no questions — just stillness.
Trust
Stillness requires you not to be in control, and that is where God wants to take us. We need to understand that things will never be able to shift until we let go and relax. Trust that He knows what is best. Believe me, He knows. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that He knows the plans He has for our lives. Plans to prosper us and not harm us. Plans to give us a hope and a future.
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
I know, it can be difficult. Especially when you don’t have the certainty that what you are letting go of, will ever come back to you. I understand. Lately I’ve come face to face with this reality myself. But even though at the moment things may seem uncertain, you can be sure about one thing, His word is unfailing. So let it go — allow His hands to move in your favor.
