A large portion of my life has been spent battling insecurity. I spent years listening to the voices that told me I was unlovable. That I wasn’t enough, that I was too much; that I was dumb and ugly, too soft and not worthy. The list could go on and on. I was told so many times who I was by others that, after a while, I started to believe them.
Who You Say I am
I hated myself down until eventually when I looked in the mirror, I didn’t recognize the person staring back at me at all. I bought into the lie that their opinions of me were greater than God’s truth about me. I listened to them because I couldn’t see. I had a misplaced sense of purpose. I was SO blind. But God fixed my eyes.
When I realized truly who I was, everything changed. My life did a complete 360 and Jesus’ voice became the only one I could hear. It wasn’t easy and I still have to work at it every day. I still fight to keep the negative voices at bay. But
for every hurtful word I remember, there is now a louder voice echoing back. And it’s the only One that matters.
I know it’s hard to see yourself in so much darkness. It’s hard to stop believing the lies. It’s hard to change the tunnel vision. Believe me, I know. But you don’t have to do it alone. God wants to give you His hand and lead you out. Allow Him to give you a new line of sight. Let Him show you The Way, just as He showed me:
In Christ you are…
You are smart and you are important. You are a world changer. You are brave and courageous. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are called by God to do great things. You are strong. You melt in His presence yet stand strong in the face of adversity. You can’t stop running because Jesus didn’t stop for you. You are a finisher. You are the right woman for the job. You are a winner. You are so loved. You are richly blessed. You are rooted and grounded. You are abundantly graced. You are your brother and sister’s keeper. You are empowered to lead. You are an overcomer. You are more than a conqueror. Greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world.
You are the Daughter of the King. No matter how you feel and no matter how it looks, you will see His promises manifested in your life. You are patient and kind. You are truthful. You are hidden in Christ. You are an end-time soldier in His army. You were born for such a time as this. In Christ, You have what it takes. You are resourceful. You are wise. You wear God’s grace beautifully. You are who God says you are, and you will do what God says you will do.
Isaiah 43:4 “You are precious in My eyes, and honored, and I love you.”
