You are radiant

You are radiant

Recently I was talking with someone and they shared about how our eyes lead us. Where we look, what we look at–ultimately that is where we are going.

Scripture promise

If we stare at temptation for too long – well guess what, we’ll fall into it. If we stare at love, life, peace and beauty – guess what, we’ll live it! If we stare at Jesus – if we gaze upon Him, we will become radiant. Just as Jesus was radiant in Matthew 17 during the transfiguration… “And He was transfigured before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as snow. (…) But Jesus came and touched them, saying, ‘Rise, and have no fear.” And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” Matthew 17:2, 7-8.  In His radiance, there is no fear. There is only abundance and deliverance in His radiance. That’s a scripture promise.

Small mirrors

“I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look at Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.” -Psalm 34:4-6
Dear one, what do you need to be delivered from today? A broken heart? A broken bank account? A broken relationship? A broken spirit? Look at Psalm 34 again – what do you see? I’ll tell you what I see. I see a promise. I see a promise that says everyone who looks upon the Lord – who gazes at Jesus – WILL BE RADIANT. They will be transformed into small mirrors of
the Lord’s glory, and our faces, our reflections of the Lord’s goodness, will never be ashamed.
He will always deliver. For the Lord hears the prayers of the righteous. He listens to those who are after his heart.

Holy fear

And guess what? There’s no fear when we gaze upon Jesus. There’s a holy fear – an extremely humbling knowledge of God’s might and sovereignty – but not fear of condemnation, unjust judgement or shame. It’s safe, dear heart. It’s always safe to gaze upon the beauty of Jesus. To hear from Him, to allow Him to speak into the depths of your heart – it’s the safest place to be.

You will be noticed for your Jesus-radiance.

And as you hear, as you stare and learn – you will be transfigured. You will become radiant. You will be noticed for your Jesus-radiance.

So rise! Have no fear, lift up your eyes and gaze upon the beauty of Jesus… and watch those fears bow before the power of your God. You are radiant.
